Jerome “Droop” Reed was a native of Jackson and a resident of Columbus, Miss., he was born on Dec. 28,1971 to Edith “Penny” Waters and Bobby King Jr. Jerome transitioned Friday April 21, 2023 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. Jerome spent some of his younger years living in California with his Aunt Gloria King. A member of the Jackson High School Class of 1990, he went on to join the United States Army.
