Members of the Salitpa Fire Department responded to this accident April 30 at 11:45 p.m. near mile marker 12 on Hwy. 69. Salitpa firemen used the jaws of life to quickly extricate the driver, Damon Ledet of Ferriday, La., who was not seriously injured. Ledet lost control of the car and struck a tree before overturning, blocking both lanes of the highway. Salitpa Fire Chief Mac Henley extended thanks to Antioch and Coffeeville fire departments, as well as law enforcement and ambulance services who assisted.
