Huntley Dees threw a 36-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jay James midway through the third quarter and Brodey Chancey followed with what proved to be the game-winning two-point conversion to lift Jackson Academy past visiting Escambia Academy 21-20 Friday night. Dees was 13-of-21 passing for 225 yards and the Eagles’ defense made the lead hold up as JA improved to 2-0. The Eagles’ defense made a couple of key stops in the first half.
