Lamar Preston Sr., a native of Salipta and resident of Dallas, Ga., passed away on May 22, 2022 in Hiram, Ga. He was 88 years old. Lamar lived most of his life in Clarke County. He retired after 32 years as a tug boat captain from Warrior Gulf & Navigation in Chickasaw. Preceding him in death were two of his children. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Odette Peavy Preston of Dallas, Ga.; eight children, and a host of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
