The White Smith Memorial Library will be welcoming Clarke County native Shernavian Roper Vandiber for “Author Talk” Thursday, June 30, from 4:30 until 6 p.m. Light refreshments will follow. Vandiber was born and raised here and chose her hometown community to first share her new children’s book, “Veggie Town: Mystery Garden.” The story reflects the importance of teamwork, community, sharing patience, respect and healthy eating. Having worked in the mental health field for more than 40 years, Vandiber advocates for children with special needs and behavioral challenges. A mother of three and grandmother of seven, Vandiber thrives when helping others.
