Heavy equipment is moving dirt at the Jackson Port on the Tombigbee River, preparing a site for the new CM Biomass facility that will operate as Jackson Pellet. Equipment was previously located to the site. The million plant was announced last fall and is expected to employ 20 to 25 people. The Alabama Department of Transportation is providing a 0,000 grant for improvements to the road leading to the plant site.
