Rufus Scott Sr., a longtime resident of the Walker Springs community, made a peaceful transition on Aug. 24, 2022 surrounded by his immediate family. Rufus was born Sept. 2, 1938 to the late Elizabeth Rivers Scott and Sim Scott Sr. Growing up in the Walker Springs community, Rufus met the love of his life, Ruthie Louise Nicholson, whom he married on June 15, 1957. To this union 15 children were born. Before her passing in 2018, the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
