CENTERVIEW — Members of the Gilead Rupe Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution located in Odessa hosted a grave marking on Sunday, May 15, for Revolutionary War soldier Moses Ferguson buried at Blackwater Cemetery in Centerview Ferguson was a private serving in the 1st South Carolina Regiment.  At the age of 19, Ferguson mustered out of service two months after the British surrender at Yorktown.  By 1831, Ferguson and his family moved into Lafayette County and finally into Johnson County where he died March 15, 1845.  Ferguson is one of two American Revolutionary War soldiers buried in this historic cemetery. ...
