It's often hard to understand why God included chapters like Joshua 15 in His Word, with detailed geographical boundaries and lists of long-forgotten cities. But these seemingly monotonous records reveal God's faithful provision for His people and were extremely important to the Israelites as they inherited the land. In this sermon we see how the ancient inheritance of Canaan is connected to the ultimate spiritual inheritance found in Jesus Christ, and that divine promises are fulfilled through patient waiting and earnest prayer. We are encouraged as believers that God's timing is perfect even when fulfillment seems delayed, and that ultimately, we will have complete rest and victory in Christ.
