Hello Homo sapiens sapiens!
People are more likely to fail in pursuit of their health ambitions if they’ve only cobbled together vague binary good/bad ‘health ratings’ for the onslaught cascade of food options presented to us. What is much more likely to positively influence your behavior is developing even just a superficial familiarization with the biological ramifications of your choices.
That is my theory anyway, borne of my own experience. In 2015 as a relative newcomer to anything resembling actually taking care of myself, I surged from a dabbler to the fast track essentially in one instant. I was tipped off by a NutritionFacts.org video and subsequent PubMed deep dive to a scientific fact I found constructively terrifying:
The salt, fat and oiliness of one smallish fast food restaurant meal constricts your circulation by 47% for 6 hours. While anyone would (should!) be horrified by that, my particular catalyst for exploring health was high blood pressure!
That’s the context I’d like you to cogitate for this 3 minute your ancient blood audio diversion.
With you against the extreme majority of food suppliers,
-Brian
