On this episode of the podcast I speak to Dr. Christopher Lundstrom about his research in sports science relevant to marathon training. Dr. Lundstrom received his Ph.D in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota. His thesis assessed plyometric training, running economy and marathon running. Chris is the director of the human sports performance lab at the university of Minnesota as well as a lecturer in the school of kinesiology. Chris is not only a researcher but accomplished runner and coach. Chris ran collegiately at the university of Stanford as well as placing 3rd and 4th in the USA Marathon championships and representing the United States in the pan American games and the world mountain running championships. Chris is the head coach of Minnesota distance elite, formerly TEAM USA Minnesota. Today we talk about Chris’ experience as a runner coach and researcher.
