Jeremiah 5: 1 – 31. Chapter 5 of Jeremiah is like a courtroom case where Judah is being sentenced. However, instead of us sitting on the sideline watching the show we witness a nation wearing our shoes. The charges put against Judah are the same charges put against us and in response, our plea is equally similar. We generate stories to defend ourselves, but ultimately, we cannot avoid the guilty verdict.
God knows our hearts and he sees the idolatry, folly, irreverence, arrogance, stubbornness, rebellion, fraud, greed, corruption and injustice. What can we do and where can we turn to escape our sentence? We ultimately need to repent. Listen to Roydon’s sermon as he shows us how, through Christ, we can repent and turn back to God.
