As we endure through this pandemic, let us turn to the study of the Scriptures.

The Scriptures must be read as a whole, for in all 66 books the whole counsel of God is revealed. We cannot isolate any truth, because ALL of Scripture is inspired by God.

We tend to have a habit of revolving around the same verses, reading only the same portions of the Bible that seem favorable to us. But there is a unity of thought and story that builds up from Genesis until the end, and true understanding can only happen when we dig deep—when we consider the historical and literary context, and the intent of the author. We must not ignore these things.

Let us not make the mistake of isolating verses from its context. Let us be careful of how we learn God's word, that we would not be amiss in understanding who God really is. [2 Timothy 3:15-17]
