The Exodus account is God's rescuing, redeeming, and delivering Israel from slavery under an oppressive enemy to freedom. It is a foreshadowing of the greater work of Jesus Christ

Exodus 9:8-12 6th plague of boils 11. Magicians could reproduce some early signs, but in later ones recognized god's power was behind them. Now, they could not stand before Moses

Exodus 9:13-35 7th plague of hail 15. "I could have wiped you from the earth" God is using restraint in judging Egypt.

1. "I have raised you up for this very purpose that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth." How had Pharaoh risen to power of the most powerful nation of its time? God raised him up and allowed Pharaoh to reign.

This passage is a kind of proto-evangelium, an early call to the whole world (used 3 times in vv14-16) to appreciate what the plagues ultimately show: There is one God in control of all things He alone can save

The world needs to recognize “there is no one like me in all the earth” (v14) and that the will of God is “that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth” (v16).

Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭9-11‬ ESV Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

27-28. This time I have sinned. We were wrong, The Lord is right. Pray for him to take away the hail. He wanted the hail to stop, nothing more. Not true repentance, he had no intention of change, no desire for God.

He did not want God's lordship, just for God to remove his suffering. This is textbook hard heart: No true repentance, no acknowledgement of God's lordship, no desire to draw closer to God, only asking for his help.

2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭4, 6‬ NIV The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. The god of this age still has captives. But our God still rescues, still frees, still redeems.
