Easter is a celebration. It is recognition that Jesus Christ is victorious.

On Friday, he took the worst of hatred and violence of men. On a Sunday, he overcame the sins of man was raised to life. On Friday, he bore the burden of our all sins. On Sunday, his Father declared that his sacrifice was accepted. On Friday, death took his body. On Sunday, he left death in his grave. On Friday, he was crucified as a criminal. On Sunday, he arose the King of kings.

We serve a victorious king. He overcame our sins, he bore our penalty and he defeated death. Jesus paid it all

There is not a day that goes by, there is not a situation in your life that is not affected by the victory of Jesus.

Isaiah 53:4-6

Isaiah was a prophet 740 to 700 BC. God gave him these words as a prophesy of Jesus Christ, the servant of God who would suffer – not because of his own sin – but suffer on behalf of others. “He… for our…”

Jesus took on our • sicknesses, • sorrows, • transgressions (peshah rebellion, sinful acts), • iniquities (aVON, depravity, guilt – not behavior, but the sinfulness of our hearts and minds), • punishment (our sins deserved capital punishment)

Easter is not a day to feel guilt and shame that Jesus had to die for us. Easter is a day to celebrate that Jesus has taken away our guilt and shame.

Because Jesus paid it all. And the Father found Jesus’ sacrifice acceptable, because after three days in death, God raised him to life.

Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭4-6‬ But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

Go to the cross, you will find forgiveness for your sins. Go to the empty tomb, you will find new life.
