The doctrine of justification by grace through faith is the center of Christianity. If this is true, then Christology is the foundation upon which justification and all the other articles of Christian faith rest. Christology teaches us that Jesus had to be man so that He could die - and had to be God so that His death would pay for our sins. Jesus is true God, true man and is one Person. This is the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. Christology is the most important area of theology. Early creeds and church councils agreed on these formal aspects of Christology. Anything teaching that varies from this is wrong and is heterodoxy. This first lesson from chapter 1 of the book will introduce these aspects of the faith.
