Much of what students (and parents) need for making sensible decisions with higher education and beyond is hidden because authorities in higher education don't share it or they assume you already know it.
Having been an undergraduate student, a graduate student, a teaching assistant, a research assistant, a faculty member, and an advisor, in addition to professional practice in industry, Advisor Jay shares secrets that only an insider would know, and he does this so you can improve at learning, studying, reasoning, decision-making, test-taking, retaining information, and have an understanding of academia that will help prepare you for graduate school and/or the industrial world.
At a state university, you could easily spend $100 000 over 4 years on tuition, other school fees, health insurance, textbooks, laboratory tools and materials, housing, food, and transportation. How much time would you spend in advance on comparing institutions AND majors AND other factors? Would you devote as much time on this as you spent learning features of brands and models of computers or phones before your last purchase?
