This weekend I learned that it’s important for me to leave the house every once in a while.
I went with a friend out to the countryside, saw a really cool art exhibit, stayed in a wonderful hostel and was awake the whole night because of a mosquito.
These are things that don’t normally transpire in my Tokyo apartment. They weren’t all fun, but by the time I came back today I had ideas for 5 new podcast episodes.
Looking forward to publishing those over the next few days, but today’s episode is really quite simple and short: I need to shake up my life every once in a while. Even if the shakeup itself isn’t fun, the resulting ideas and insights that bubble up in the days afterwards are more than worth it.
I need to shift my mindset around leaving the house from “do I want to do this right now” to “do I want cool stuff to think about later?”
