It has been accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all in the gospel. God in his love forgives sinners whom he calls, granting them repentance and faith. All who believe in Christ are justified by faith alone, adopted into the family of God and receive eternal life.” 1. The Preamble to our salvation “Salvation is entirely a work of God's grace and cannot be earned or deserved.” There is nothing we can ever do that pleases God. Even our good works are not good works in God’s eyes – they are like dirty rags! And the very least of our sins is an offence against God Himself. Jonathan Edwards – “The smallest sin is an act of Cosmic Treason against a Holy God.” 2. Purchase of our salvation “It has been accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all in the gospel.” How did Jesus accomplish our Redemption? By the Atonement. Frighteningly, this is a key doctrine being reviewed by so-called “progressive evangelicals” because they say it is just to senseless and so bloody for a kind and loving God to even consider. 3.
