We have a truth 💣for you!

You will never, ever hear us say we're having a "cheat" meal.

"Cheat" meals is a negative, all-or-nothing mindset that is associated with guilt and self-loathing. This is not a healthy approach to food.

A "treat" on the other hand, is associated with pleasure and positive feelings.

Whether you refer to eating a piece of cake as a cheat or treat comes down to mindset.

Mindset is learned behaviour. If you currently associate eating a cookie as a cheat, you can learn to rewrite your personal script so that you view it as a treat. You can:

  • Eat your cookie slowly! This is a game-changer. Take the time to really notice the texture and flavour of the cookie.
  • Keep a journal and note your feelings and thoughts as you eat the cookie.
  • Desensitize yourself to cookies by disrupting your habits. Every time you find yourself reaching into the pantry for a cookie have a glass of water, write a note in your journal or do five push-ups.

Take the time to truly enjoy whatever you are eating today. We are!
