Night time sleepingSleeping upright is neither healthy nor unhealthy. As long as you’re able to rest comfortably and get enough sleep, the upright position might be the best option. Some people live with medical conditions that make sitting up more comfortable for sleeping. These include morbid obesity and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

However it could, in some cases raise your risk of deep-vein thrombosis. DVT is characterized by a blood clot that forms in the veins of your thigh or lower leg after long periods of uninterrupted sitting. If the clot travels to the lungs, this can lead to a potentially fatal pulmonary embolism.

Sitting on chair might be uncomfortable

What is suggested:
Sitting on recliner, drink plenty of fluids

Day time sleepingNot advised for long hours - it is unhealthy
Power nap is good
A nap of less than 30 min duration during the day promotes wakefulness and enhances performance and learning ability.

BUT WHY?? Why do you want to sleep during day time? Ask to yourself.

Is it that you are getting too sleepy suddenly? That is natural sleep. Or is it that you want to plan your day time sleep to improve your efficiency? Don't sleep if you are not getting sleep by default.

If you don't have habit of power nap, don't take it. I sit and sleep mostly because that ways I don't overdo it. I usually get up within 20 minutes maximum.

Watch how you feel after day time sleep. If you feel even more lazy and dull, avoid sleeping for longer hours or avoid sleeping in day time if that is not your natural sleep.
