If you can’t make all of the dates, come to whichever ones you can! There is no book necessary for this session, all materials will be provided. Study description:
This is a deep dive Bible study into the book of Jude. Have you every wondered what this little epistle is really all about. After all, with only one chapter and 25 verses in length, how important could it really be? Why in the world would it take 5 weeks to study this tiny little letter? You’d be surprised how much “gold” we are going to mine from this little book.
Join this journey from the New Testament to the beginning of time and back again. We’ll be using the inductive study methods of observation, interpretation and application without all the extensive work of a regular PRECEPT study.

The Cross Reference Book Club book for March: Fight Like Jesus: How Jesus Waged Peace Throughout Holy Week by Jason Porterfield.

Brief overview:
Throughout Holy Week, two competing approaches to peacemaking collide. What if we’ve embraced the wrong one? We desperately need to recover the radical vision of peacemaking that Jesus embodied throughout Holy Week. And we urgently need to be trained in his way of making peace. So, come. Let’s journey together day-by-day through Jesus’ final week and discover anew why he is called the Prince of Peace.

View the book on Amazon here.

We look forward to hearing what you learned from reading this book at our next meeting on Saturday, March 25 at 9:30 AM at the Frater Library. Join the group and RSVP so that we know you’re participating. You can join the Book Club Group and RSVP in the App: Home>Connect>Groups or click here.

Lay Me DownAltarSinking DeepSame PowerLay Me DownVerse 1With this heart open wide
From the depths from the heights
I will bring a sacrifice

Verse 2With these hands lifted high
Hear my song hear my cry
I will bring a sacrifice
I will bring a sacrifice

ChorusI lay me down
I’m not my own
I belong to You alone
Lay me down lay me down
Oh hand on my heart this much is true
There’s no life apart from You
Lay me down lay me down
(Oh lay me down lay me down)

Verse 3Letting go of my pride
Giving up all my rights
Take this life and let it shine

BridgeIt will be my joy to say
Your will Your way

Your will Your way always

AltarVerse 1You beckon me beckon me
To leave all that I’ve known
You beckon me beckon me
To call you as my own
This is life this is life
To bid me come and die
Spirit of the living God
You’re all that satisfies
All that satisfies

Chorus 1Here I give my everything
Surrendered at the altar of my King
For I am His and He is mine
Oh I know that He will
Never leave my side
He’ll never leave my side

Verse 2You beckon me beckon me
To leave all that I’ve known
You beckon me beckon me
To call you as my own
This is life this is life
To bid me come and die
Spirit of living God
You’re all that satisfies
All that satisfies

Chorus 2So here I give my everything
Surrendered at the altar of my King
For I am His and He is mine
Oh I know that He will
Never leave my side

BridgeMy desire is for You
All of Heaven adores You
I’ve tasted and I’ve seen
That You are good
Your kingdom’s forever
Your throne lasts forever
And forever I will sing
That You are good

Chorus 3So here I give my everything
I’m surrendered at the altar of my King
For I am His and He is mine
Oh I know that He will
Never leave my side

‘Cause I’m hanging on
To Your every word
Like a melody
That no one else has heard
For I am His and He is mine
Oh I know that He will
Never leave my side
He’ll never leave my side

Sinking DeepVerse 1Standing here in Your presence
In a grace so relentless
I am won by perfect love
Wrapped within the arms of heaven
In a peace that lasts forever
Sinking deep in mercy’s sea

ChorusI’m wide awake drawing close
Stirred by grace and all my heart is Yours
All fear removed
I breathe You in I lean into Your love
Oh Your love

Verse 2When I’m lost You pursue me
Lift my head to see Your glory
Lord of all so beautiful
Here in You I find shelter
Captivated by the splendour of Your face
My secret place

BridgeYour love so deep is washing over me
Your face is all I seek You are my ev’rything
Jesus Christ You are my one desire
Lord hear my only cry to know You all my life

Same PowerVerse 1I can see the waters
raging at my feet
I can feel the breath of
those surrounding me
I can hear the sound of
nations rising up
We will not be overtaken
We will not be overcome

Verse 2I can walk down this
dark and painful road
I can face ev’ry
fear of the unknown
I can hear all God’s
children singing out
We will not be overtaken
We will not be overcome

ChorusThe same power that rose
Jesus from the grave
The same power that
commands the dead to wake
Lives in us lives in us

The same power that moves
mountains when He speaks
The same power that can
calm a raging sea
Lives in us lives in us
He lives in us lives in us

Verse 3We have hope that
His promises are true
In His strength
there is nothing we can’t do
Yes we know there are
greater things in store
We will not be overtaken
We will not be overcome

BridgeGreater is He that is living in me
He’s conquered our enemy (oh)
No power of darkness
No weapon prevails

We stand here in victory
In victory
