Welcome, one and all, to the inaugural episode of Bloom and Ruin. Thank you for being here for the start of our journey.

Today's episode will include the following:

Breathe by Analiese Vander-Vinne.

Format: Poem

Synopsis: The poem is about remembering to take a breath and taking in the many possibilities life offers... even when it seems difficult.

Flight 280 by Josh Morgan.

Format: Short Story

Genre: Surrealism

Synopsis: An ambient and ethereal story that follows a guy wandering through an airport terminal, waiting for his flight back home. As he waits, he jumps between surreal moments and esoteric memories...

The Kickbutt Adventures of Kestrel by Davis Anderson.

Format: Stage Play

Genre: Comedy/Drama

Synopsis: The stage piece follows a hero that's packing it in. His friend in the fire department is trying to bring him back into the fold, yet Corey, the young hero, is exceedingly reluctant. Could this be a symptom of his disillusionment, or something darker?

A Ballad For a One Night Stand by Mary Depiazzi.

Format: Poetry/Prose

Synopsis:"The piece is a collection of thought processes about the dating cycle. Dating. You feel like you’re not asking for much, but as you delve into what you want and how you feel, you realise just how much you are asking for. Not just anyone can be that for you, and it takes time to find them."
