This is an unplanned episode in response to the tragic death of a member of my community.
Domestic abuse permeates our society with a greater reach and depth than most of us realize. Victims of this insidious behavior feel alone, afraid, humiliated, and confused. Those on the outside looking in are hesitant to 'interfere" or overstep boundaries and too often are left wishing they had after a friend, family member, or co-worker are seriously harmed or killed.
I am a domestic abuse survivor. In this episode, I share my thoughts and personal insights on this topic in the hope that it will help someone who needs it. If you or someone you care about is in a situation that is potentially unsafe, please seek help. Know you are not alone and there is light at the end of the tunnel, even if it is hard to see it right now.
THANK YOU for listening, and for sharing your thoughts, questions, and any resources in your location that may assist someone who is struggling. That includes any resources you may be aware of for abusers who want to break the cycle and heal themselves, too.
