Victoria Williams has always carved her own path, but made sure she created one that others could follow. She started playing tennis when she was 6 years old, when a coach took notice of her talent and took extra initiative to develop her skills. It was a bit of an escape from the rough area she lived with her family, but it also made her a bit of an "other" between her two lives. That was part of the reason she selected an HBCU, where she could be the first of her siblings to attend college. While a degree in medical field was stable, it did not feed her creative side. Enter social media, where she could stretch those muscles and find a way toward a new career -- a career that let's her tell her stories her way. A career that lets people see that a queer, Black, Millennial, managing her anxiety and a beautiful relationship is thriving. Oh, and she organized a protest.
