In this episode, I talk through one of the main challenges I’ve been facing: how to frame my learning problem and how to identify the constructs and theories that will form the foundation for the learning problem. I talk through my hypothesis that social emotional learning and emotional intelligence leads to increased self-awareness, sense of belonging, and connection for BIPOC youth transitioning to middle school. This increase is moderated (i.e., strengthened) by engaging in mindfulness practices taught in a culturally relevant curriculum.
