THE ISRAELITES PLAYLISTStudy of the Psalms of Ascent

For generations, the car playlist has been an essential component to any road trip. From cassette tapes to cd’s, mp3 players and now appleplay the playlist has sent the tone and mood of trip in the car.

The Psalms of Ascent (Psalm 120 – 134) are the Israelites playlist. Songs that were sung by the Israelites every year on their way to Jerusalem for the annual feasts. The are songs that speak of home and being with God. Songs that cry out to God and songs that celebrate His faithfulness.

Over the next few editions we will be unpacking each of these Psalms one by one and reflecting on the way these songs sung generations ago still apply to us as we are on our Christian journey.
