Steps to Achieve Your Goals

a. Purpose
- This is the why of the goal
- Purpose – It is the meaning, the reason why something exists.
- With purpose, life, work, relationships, and goals have meaning
- Knowing your why will simplify the decisions you need to make
- Purpose acts as a filter in your decision making
- Purpose does not make the decision easy, but it filters out the complications!
b. Value
- What does the goal mean to you?
- Meaning – the intention, significance, or importance of something
- The value of this goal is personal and play a crucial role in something in your life.
- The value is how important something is in your life.
c. Believe
- Knowing that you can achieve your goal.
- Have confidence in yourself.
- Only share your goal with people that will help you and lift you up.
- Find an accountability partner.
d. Commitment
a. Plan or Steps
- Write out the steps that you will need to do in order to accomplish your goal.
- This needs to be a simple process with some details.
- Make sure that your goal is a SMART Goal.
- Add a vision board if it will help in your process.
b. Persistence
a. Behavior
- Definition – the way in which a person acts in response to a particular situation or belief.
- You have to change someone’s belief in order to change their behavior
- Behaviors are the effect of our believes
- Behavior is the vehicle to get our results
b. Results
- Definition – a consequence, effect or outcome of something
- Results are the end game for goals.
- Fear or anxiety can get in our way of achieving our goal. Go back to mind set and redo the steps
- Results can be sustainable if you change the mind set first and then follow through with action.
