Welooked in the last blog about saying no to others and making our lives morebalanced by the natural tug-of-war of relationships and life. This blogwants to explore the more internal self-desires and limiters to saying no.I think we can all say yes to the fact that, at times, we do things that wereally want to say no to but end up doing anyway. This could be eating thatchocolate bar, having that glass of wine, succumbing to drugs, take painkillers, porn or sex addictions, smoking, vaping, buying clothes andovershopping for things. These are just a few of the things we do that we sayto ourselves that we should say no to but then we end up doing. Why is this? Why do we do this to ourselves? There are probably lots of different reasonsthat have led us to this point but for many of us, at the root of this, is thatwe don't feel we are in control and can say no. As we grow up, we are learning lots of habits and beliefs in life andthese can still be ways that we continue to live our lives. This is great formany of them, who would want to wake up every day and have to learn how towalk, drive the car, talk, eat, understand English, and know how to use allthose things we have in our lives, which make our lives so much easier than wehave ever had before in the history of our development. From the phones, washing machines, hoovers, dishwashers, heating, irons and all the other stuffin this endless list of things we have now in our homes and workplaces. This isthe pleasure of our unconscious mind, that over time it learns these habits andthen we can do them without much effort at all.
