Scientists and graduate students from institutions around the Midwest and abroad will have the opportunity to attend the free 2022 Nitrogen Use Efficiency Workshop Aug. 1–3. The title of this year’s workshop is “Demystifying Water and Nitrogen Management with Dynamic Solutions,” hosted by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Agronomy and Horticulture and Department of Biological Systems Engineering. Graduate students will have the opportunity to compete in a poster presentation competition and the data hackathon team competition.

P. Stephen Baenziger, professor of agronomy and horticulture, discusses a brief history of Nebraska wheat as well as the Small Grains Breeding Program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and its impact on a global scale. Dr. Baenziger has served as the Nebraska Wheat Growers Presidential Chair, professor of plant breeding and genetics, and steward of the Small Grains Breeding Program at the university.
