The last two weeks we’ve been talking about the spiritual warfare that surrounds us and that we read about in scripture. We’ve talked about seeing the unseen and working to be prepared to oppose and fight for God and His ways. We also talked a little about the divine weapons that we are called to use against the true enemy of evil and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. This Sunday morning we will consider what it means to train ourselves and work to be ready. Paul told Timothy to train himself in 1 Timothy chapter 4.

“Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.” 1 Tim 4:7-10 (ESV)

Let’s join together this Lord’s day to study scripture and determine how we can be train ourselves to do the work the Lord calls us to in His Kingdom.
