Last week we talked about the fact that we are in a spiritual war against the Devil and his forces of evil in the heavenly realms. The war’s been won, but we have many battles to fight. You know how it is. You’re just living life and all of a sudden you’re thrust into a spiritual battle of right and wrong. You have a choice, and then you choose. We must be prepared, as best we can, for these battles that will come. It’s not a matter of if battles will come, it’s when. What do you need to do in order to be prepared?
“For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.' Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:28-33 (ESV)
We must count the cost and prepare to engage the enemy. What do you need to do in order to prepare? Let’s join together and consider what God’s word tells us to do in order to be prepared.
