The Brigham City Police Department welcomed a new officer at Thursday’s Brigham City Council meeting, introducing him to the council before swearing him in and holding the department’s traditional badge-pinning ceremony. Officer Jonathan Esparza comes to Brigham City from the Weber County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked in corrections as a jailer. “We were able to steal him out of the jail, luckily, as he’s decided he’d much rather work on the road,” said Police Chief Chad Reyes.
