Box Elder County has been awarded ,300 in grant funding to combat various strains of Knapweed, and ,500 for Rush Skeleton mitigation efforts from the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food’s Invasive Species Mitigation Fund. Both grants have been applied for and received for a number of years, with the state using Box Elder County’s success against Rush Skeleton as proof of the program’s value. “The state has highlighted on our success within this project,” said Box Elder County Weed Supervisor Wyatt Freeze. The Box Elder County Commission voted unanimously to accept both grants at Wednesday’s meeting.
