Both the boys’ and girls’ Box Elder High School swim teams celebrated claiming Region 5 titles for the second consecutive year. The boys had a run-away victory, scoring 536.5 points, over Woods Cross and Bountiful, who tied for second with 392.5 points each. Viewmont, Bonneville and Northridge rounded out the bottom three. The girls earned their title in a tighter competition, besting second-place Viewmont by 39 points, 460-421. Bountiful, Woods Cross, Northridge, and Bonneville finished third-sixth, respectively. The 5A state meet will be held at Brigham Young University Feb. 18-19.
