Approximately 28 firefighters from the Central Box Elder Fire District, Tremonton, Corinne and Box Elder County Fire responded to a straw stack fire in Deewyville on Sunday night at approximately 10:30 p.m. “The fire was threatening several buildings when crews arrived,” reported Box Elder County Fire Marshal Corey Barton. “It was very difficult getting enough water to manage the fire because the farm yard sits over 1,000 feet from the nearest fire hydrant.” Crews set up a relay pumping operation and were able to get enough water to be effective.
