Vote for DBuzz - Proposal #2DBuzz co-founder @nathansenn answered an interesting question during the Frolicblock event held in Mati City, Davao Oriental, Philippines, about his ideas on how to onboard to Web3 social media and join the Hive community.
During the panel discussions of the Frolicblock Event, the host asked Nathan Senn how ordinary social media users can get started with Web3 social media.
According to Nathan Senn, it's very easy to get onboarded and join Web3; they only need a HIVE account by visiting the website https://join.d.buzz/.
After submitting a phone number, they will get a text message and use the text message to create their Hive account.
Nathan Senn reminded everybody to save their keys because they own their accounts, so they need to back up their keys, keep them, write them down and put them somewhere safe.
Vote for DBuzz - Proposal #2What are Hive Keys? The Hive blockchain has four keys and one seedphrase or master password. Each of the keys provides built-in security against user account compromise and allows users to perform different functions.

The Hive Team from Davao City celebrated an early Christmas activity in coordination with local Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), the Philippine National Police, and the Department of Education to bring joy to a Lumad community in a far-flung area of Davao City, Philippines.
The combined forces of NGO's, private companies, crypto communities and local authorities resulted in Lumad school children of Luyan Elementary School receiving Early Christmas Gifts (Sitio Luyan, Barangay Tambobong, Baguio District, Davao City, Philippines).
The Hive team were composed of DBuzz founder Chris Rice (@chrisrice), co-founder Nathan Senn (@nathansenn), Japanese national Hideki Aoki, Ed Umbao (@philnews.xyz) from news website PhilNews.xyz, and DBuzz consultant Ken Berey. Together with the team of volunteers from Jaycees Club International (JCI), Davao Mt. Apo Eagles Club, the Mindanao Blockchain Association and in coordination with the Department of Education and the local Philippine National Police, brought joys and smiles to the Lumad residents in Sitio Luyan.
Traveling from Jollibee Ulas to Sitio LuyanThe entire team agreed to embark from Jollibee Ulas located on Diversion Road, Talomo District of Davao City and passed through the Davao-Bukidnon Road traversing the long-winding road for more than one hour before reaching the uphill Sitio Luyan, Baguio District, Davao City.
The volunteers from Hive, DBuzz, @retzark, JCI, Mindanao Blockchain Association and other private company sponsors such as Xpedia, Quinex, Angel Wings, Ozmik, and NCCC Cares brought some presents to the more than 150 student learners studying at Luyan Elementary School.
The team of around 11 vehicles traveling from the City to the remote barangay was escorted by some PNP personnel onboard a Police Patrol car to secure the area and to provide security for the volunteers and visitors of the gift-giving activity.
All the children studying in the multi-grade classroom came from nearby areas and belong to the Obo-Manobo Tribe headed by Tribal leader, Alfredo Ombol.
Bringing Smiles to the LumadsThe gift-giving activities started with an impressive welcome dance performance from the volunteers representing DBuzz, Hive, Retzark, JCI, Mindanao Blockchain Association, IrisNet, Xpedia, Quinex, Angel Wings, Ozmic and NCCC cares.
The parents of the children studying at Luyan Elementary School enjoyed the performance of volunteer groups visiting their area as they anticipated the gifts to be given to their respective children.
Sponsors of the events as well the organizers headed by JCI Malagos and Davao Mt. Apo Eagles Club, together with the sponsors that included the Hive team, Blockchain Network Philippines, Xpedia and Ozmik were given an opportunity to each share their inspiring messages to the beneficiaries of the Early Christmas Gift-Giving activities (December 14, 2023).
Chris Rice' Message to ChildrenDBuzz Founder Chris Rice shared an interesting message to the Lumad children of Luyan Elementary School who were very grateful with the inspiration they got and the gifts they were about to receive.
Chris Rice was grateful in visiting the Lumad school and in giving some nice gifts, which was received with enthusiasm and applause from the children.
The DBuzz founder encouraged children to also practice giving and practice sharing because for him he found in his life that it is the easiest first step to success.
He also noted that after giving and sharing, the next step is probably social skills that includes good communication, being kind, telling the truth, talking gently and they will learn more about that when they're older as he also encouraged parents and teachers to teach social skills about how to build not just kind children but kind societies, and that's the reason they were there.
Chris Rice did not forget to mention and gave credit to Ken Berey from Blockchain Network Philippines (@blocknetworkph) and Mindanao Blockchain Association for inviting the Hive Team to be part of the gift-giving activities as he ended his speech encouraging everybody to give a little bit and to make it a life practice.
Actual Gift-Giving and Bidding Farewell to the CommunityDuring the well-organized gift-giving activities, the children enjoyed a total of four bags of assorted items composed of hygiene kits, school supplies, goodies and other items needed by the students as they were all smiling upon receiving their gifts.
The volunteers also provided food packs from Jollibee to the 150 school children benificiaries with some of them partaking Jolibee food for the first time in their life.
Rice porridge and some goodies and drinks were also given to the parents, relatives and other attendees of the Early Christmas Gift-Giving activities.
The volunteer team and donors from Davao City were escorted by the PNP back to our areas safely after bidding farewell to the parents and the Lumad community members who were very grateful as seen on their faces celebrating an early Christmas treat from JCI, Mt. Apo Eagles Club and the Hive Team.

During the first Archway Meetup in the Philippines, DBuzz co-founder Nathan Senn (@nathansenn) introduced DBuzz. At the same time, Chris Rice, DBuzz founder, revealed future plans for the decentralized microblogging application and shared some insights about the Web3 space in the country.
Nathan Senn's Impressive DBuzz PresentationNathan Senn introduced the groundbreaking decentralized social media platform DBuzz, built in the Hive ecosystem, in a well-attended Archway meetup event held in Davao City on December 9, 2023.
The short, impressive, and engaging speech of Nathan Senn highlighted how DBuzz merges the familiar aspects of platforms like Twitter and Facebook with the innovative features of blockchain technology, giving birth to the first decentralized micro-blogging app built on Hive.
The veteran blockchain developer emphasized the platform's potential for transparency and user empowerment, earning some votes and cryptocurrency by using innovative social media.
Interesting Query About ArchwayDuring a key session at the Archway Meetup, Chris Rice (@chrisrice), known for his insightful queries in the tech community, raised an important question. He sought to understand the primary use case of Archway, a query that sparked interest among the attendees.
Ruben Lacumba (@rubzcomms), the founder of Davao DeFi Community (@davaodeficom) and a leading figure in the Archway presentation, addressed Rice's question. He explained that the cornerstone of Archway's functionality is its Decentralized Exchange (DEX). This feature, Lacumba emphasized, is pivotal for enabling secure and accessible management of funds within the platform.
Lacumba's explanation highlighted the platform's commitment to enhancing the decentralized finance landscape. His response resonated with the audience, shedding light on the innovative aspects of Archway.
Intrigued by this, Chris Rice expressed his interest in a potential collaboration. He saw an opportunity for integrating DBuzz, the first decentralized social media platform operating on the Hive blockchain, with Archway. Rice suggested a synergistic fusion, leveraging Archway's DEX capabilities to expand and enhance the user experience on DBuzz.
First Archway Meetup in the PhilippinesThe Archway Meetup in Davao City is the inaugural meetup for the ecosystem in the Philippines as they plan to expand their reach in the Philippines and neighboring Southeast Asian countries.
Davao-based crypto community organizers, Davao DeFi Community (DDC) and NFT Davao (@nftdavao.org), headed by Churchill Brizuela (@chillrender) and Rod Albores (@rodrunnerph), initiated the event by inviting some of the most prominent names in the crypto industry within Davao City and nearby provinces.
Hive, DBuzz & Retzark Well-Represented in the MeetupThe Hive Team from Davao City, composed of Chris Rice, Nathan Senn, Valkangel (@valkangel), Emafe (@emafe), Peche Mondido (@mayche), and Ed Umbao (@philnews.xyz) graced the event and made an impressive presentation. The team was also interested in creating buzz about the highly anticipated launch of the Hive-based card game Retzark.
Retzark is an extraordinary card game that stands out in the gaming world due to its unique blend of innovative gameplay and visually stunning artistry.
Each card in Retzark (@retzark) is a masterpiece in its own right, featuring artwork that is not only strikingly original but also meticulously crafted to immerse players in its fantastical world. These aren't just illustrations; they are vivid, imaginative creations that tell stories, evoke emotions, and bring the game's rich lore to life.
The gameplay of Retzark is as captivating as its visuals. It breaks new ground with mechanics that are intuitive for beginners and deeply strategic for seasoned players.

This is the first short clip of a panel discussion about Web3 social media in Mati, Philippines, during FrolicBlock of 2023.
For me, two of the key strong points of Web3 are:
And it should be, what that means is that anyone is free to copy the software, duplicate it and build out their own products.
Hive.io with dApps like D.Buzz, is leading the way to break up monopolies, so that hundreds and someday thousands of Web3 social media platforms can work together to disrupt walled gardens (@kencode).
But it won't be new monopolies that replace them, it will be a lot of smaller projects that work together interoperably with one another.
Potentially, everyone reading this and watching this video can have their own social network, they can all work together and be visible on one another's sites.
That's the Vision of Web3, and that's what Hive is doing which is why some people say Hive is Web3, I am one of them.

The Hive Community in Davao City, represented by the @dbuzz Team, donated 500 notebooks to the students of Jesus J. Soriano National High School, a secondary institution in Davao City, Philippines.
Hive & DBuzz team standing with the school faculty.
Some of the Hive notebooks that were funded by @valueplan, @chrisrice and @dbuzz.The donated notebooks are just the beginning, according to the representatives from the Hive community, as they emphasized that notebooks were just material things provided by the community. The most important part of the ceremony is the assurance that there will be continuous education and training assistance from DBuzz to be given to the students.
The Hive community in Davao City will impart their knowledge and skills to the students of the JJSNHS for long-term partnerships and collaborations.
The gift-giving ceremony for the donated notebooks was held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, inside the school's newly built conference function room. The 500 student recipients were represented by their group leaders, who will represent their classes.
The gift-giving was conducted inside the function room, and only the representatives of each section received the donations so that the regular classes would not be affected and derailed by the activity.
Present during the gift-giving event at Jesus J. Soriano National High School were representatives from various departments, headed by their school Principal, Mrs. Emy B. Goc-ong, and Officer-In-Charge Mr. Tranquilino Velasco.
Faculty members who were present during the donation drive were Ma'am Jenalyn Molina-Grade 8 Curriculum Head; Ma'am Mary Ann Palima-Grade-7 Curriculum Head; Mr. Mar Soriano-ICT In-charge, Mr. Brian Jake Barrios-Media Expo Teacher-in-charge, Ma'am Christine Concio-Journalism In-Charge, and Mr. Ralph Alac also from Journalism.
The Hive team from Davao City was represented by Mr. Ken Berey, DBuzz consultant and CEO of Blockchain Network Philippines (BNP) @blocknetworkph, Mr. Ed Umbao, founder of PhilNews.xyz and Team Leader of the DBuzz Media Team, Mrs. Emafe Rice @emafe, wife of DBuzz Founder Chris Rice and John Carlo Rafael @rafaelvlog, videographer and DBuzz Media team member.
Short Background of the Hive Donations to JJSNHSBefore the agreed date of release of the 500 notebooks from the Hive community, meetings were conducted, and some initial visits were in preparation for the October 17 gift-giving ceremony.
DBuzz Founder Mr. Chris Rice took an initial move to contact the school authorities for the said donations. He got the founder of the Davao DeFi Community, Sir Ruben Lacumba, the husband of Mrs. Lacumba, one of the teachers working at JJSNHS.
An initial meeting was conducted last August 11, 2023, attended by Chris Rice and Ed Umbao, representing the Hive blockchain and the micro-blogging platform DBuzz through the efforts made by DDC Founder Mr. Ruben Lacumba.
The first meeting with the School on August 8, 2023.Present during the first meeting between the Hive representatives and JJSNHS were Principal Emy Goc-ong, JJSNHS Officer-in-Charge Mr. Tranquilino Velasco Jr., Adopt-A-School Coordinator Ma'am Jenalyn A. Molina and Mr. Ruben Lacumba from the DDC.
Second Meeting with School Officials Helping Them Buying Their DomainLast August 8, 2023; Chris Rice and Ed Umbao visited JJSNHS for a follow-up with the initial meeting conducted for promised donations to the school.
Chris Rice and Ed Umbao onboarded Sir Mar Soriano and Sir Tranquilino Velasco this time. Aside from successfully onboarding the two teachers to Hive using the DBuzz platform, one of the most significant achievements was materialized.
During the discussions with Sir Velasco and Sir Soriano, they raised concerns about their technical difficulties in maintaining their websites. They were interested in learning more from the DBuzz team.
Chris Rice responded immediately by buying a domain for the school and creating an instant website through WordPress. It was hosted by Chris Rice's account, making the JJSNHS website more professional than the previous one, wherein they only used a free Weebly domain.
The school officials were enthusiastic and grateful for the instant technical assistance provided by Chris Rice in making a professional website for the school.
Preparations Before the Day of the Gift-Giving CeremonyBefore the @hivefest event in Rosarito, Mexico, Chris Rice ensured that all the necessary materials and donations for JJSNHS were in place and assured the school that the gifts would be delivered promptly.
Last September 18, 2023, the Hive Team visited @cliffhangerprint to make sure that all the notebooks that will be donated to JJSNHS were all prepared and ready for distribution, as well as the school supplies intended for San Francisco, Southern Leyte was also prepared and ready for shipment.
Ed Umbao, the founder of PhilNews.xyz, made sure that all things were prepared as he made a follow-up last October 12 for the agreed distribution schedule on October 17, 2023, at around 7:30 AM.
The items were delivered a day before the ceremony on October 17, and all the details were finalized regarding the venue, but there were some late changes due to some circumstances.
The distribution was supposed to be held at the covered court. Still, the sound system had some technical issues, and the ceremony could also have caused some delays to the usual school activities. Hence, the organizers suggested changing the venue to the conference room.
Principle, Mrs. Emy Goc-ong of Jesus J. Soriano National High School.

Gift-Giving Ceremony ProperThe DBuzz Team in Davao City, through Ed Umbao, made some extra efforts to invite some prominent individuals to support him, and he was able to get the nod of Ken Berey, the CEO of Blockchain Network Philippines, one of the most recognized names in the Web3 and BPO industry in the Philippines.
Despite being so busy with his marketing schedule, Ken Berey supported the Hive Team in Davao City as he arrived at the school one hour before the program with Ed Umbao, Emafe Rice, and John Carlo Rafael.
Hive User @mightymary Rekindles Interests on HiveOne of the teachers working at the Jesus J. Soriano National High School was teacher Mary, whose Hive username is @mightymary. She told Hive representative Ed Umbao that she is one of the pioneers of DBuzz as she was onboarded seven months ago.
Teacher Mary also posted an update regarding the gift-giving activities at Jesus J. Soriano National High School.
According to @mightymary, she was overwhelmed by the generosity of the Hive community to the school, and she was so grateful to meet the DBuzz team in person during the gift-giving ceremony at the school where she worked as a teacher.
Ma'am Mary then told Ed Umbao that she would be more active with the Hive community and was willing to share her experience with Hive and all her students.
Word of Encouragement from the PrincipalMa'am Emy Goc-ong welcomed all the guests at that gift-giving ceremony as she imparted her message of encouragement to the students and the stakeholders who helped them in one way or another.
During the welcoming address, the school Principal emphasized the importance of being a community. She quoted a famous quote that says, "It takes a village to raise a child," which is significant in the gift-giving ceremony held inside the school.
According to Ma'am Goc-ong, the entire community of people must provide for and interact with the learners and teachers because there are some aspects of teaching that experts are needed to support their educational curriculum. With the Hive community's commitment to technical assistance and mentorship, it's an honor to be part of the program.
She was so thankful for the generous gifts from the Hive community through the efforts of Chris Rice, @guiltyparties, and Value Plan for the notebook donations, which will be given to poor students who could not afford the much-needed tools on their educational journey.
Ma'am Goc-ong was also enthusiastic about future collaborations with the DBuzz Technical Team, which will provide mentorship and training to the students and faculty members.
Introduction About Hive & DBuzzEd Umbao, the founder of PhilNews.xyz, introduced himself as a former OFW working in Saudi Arabia who later ventured into an online business in Bacolod City after discovering that there was internet money way back in 2011. Whatever you earn working as an OFW, you can also make it through an online job.
From 2011 up to 2016, he was so active with the company and website that he co-founded PhilNews.ph, but after the success of Pres. Rody Duterte, as President, separated ways and joined politics in his hometown.
According to Ed, he will try to make things simple. He told the students that Hive is a government by the community of a community-based blockchain, and no CEO can represent the diverse online community.
Ed also explained DBuzz, which he described as a simple decentralized app, just like Facebook or Twitter, but with an integration similar to GCash. But the catch is that we can own our account on DBuzz, and even the team could give the students some insights about Web3. Part of the discussion by Ed Umbao was explanations, in layperson's terms, of some technical aspects of the meaning of Web1, Web2, and Web3.
He also encouraged all the students to learn from mentors and chose only educational materials online to help support their needs as students. Sir Ed also promised to conduct more intensive journalism seminars, copywriting, Search Engine Optimization basics, and training on handling a WordPress website.
Surprise Words of Encouragement from Ken BereyAfter the presentation and speech made by Ed Umbao, the emcee, Sir Velasco, introduced Sir Ken Berey, the CEO and founder of Blockchain Network Philippines (BNP) and one of the country's most recognized speakers and entrepreneurs, to give inspirational talks about being a company founder, and to encourage students how to use Web3 properly.
The students and teachers during the program were surprised upon learning that somebody who they only knew by name visited their school to support Hive's endeavors to provide technical assistance to Jesus J. Soriano National High School.
Ken revealed to the students how he was able to establish the first and only Web3-focused BPO company in the Philippines and encouraged the students to learn more from the Hive community, especially with the DBuzz team who will be sending their technical people to help the school to improve their status in terms of technology advancement.
Right after the meaningful and engaging words of wisdom from Ken Berey, the questions and answers portion followed, and the culminating activities of the gift-giving ceremony was the ceremonial handling of the 500 donated notebooks to Jesus J. Soriano National High School located in Catalunan, Grande, Davao City, Philippines.
In conclusion, this is the start of DBuzz's go-to-market and retention strategy presented by Chris Rice in Rosarito, Mexico.
Let's share the magic of Hive with the world.

Meeting founders and building connections with community leaders is one of the aims of DBuzz founder Chris Rice as he promotes the HIVE ecosystem. This is to onboard more projects, users and to help more people become deeply aware of the values Hive provides to Internet users.
This is why DBuzz invites community leaders from Mindanao, Philippines, to discuss the potential to not only introduce DBuzz and HIVE to their companies and workers but also to their communities
On August 23, 2023, DBuzz founder and avid Hive user Chris Rice @chrisrice meets James Kenneth Berey, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Blockchain Network Philippines (BNP) @blocknetworkph, one of the country's most prominent Key Opinion Leaders in the crypto and Web3 space.
Chris Rice met him in person with the Developers of DBuzz working inside our office here in the Philippines. I stood up with Chris Rice and Kenneth James Berry to discuss his company, Blockchain Network Philippines, and his future collaborations with DBuzz and the Hive community here in Davao City.
I also asked Kenneth if he would allow us to film some video footage during our conversation, and he openly agreed with us, so with the assistance of @rafaelvlog, who took some photos and video footage, we started our discussions.
What is Blockchain Network Philippines, and Who is James Kenneth Berry:
Image sourced from BlockchainNetworkPH.com.
James Kenneth Berry founded Blockchain Network Philippines (BNP) in 2020, during the pandemic and when he was a Philippine ambassador for Certik, a security-focused ranking platform, and Chainlink, a Web3 services platform.
The BNP founder James Kenneth Berry or Ken Berdz, among his circle of friends, also holds a Philippine ambassador title for IrisNet, Status, and Cosmos.
During our discussions, James reiterated his goals and initiative of teaching people about the potential of cryptocurrency and how it will affect the future.
Based on his statements, his company, Blockchain Network Philippines, could represent the entire Philippines as the first and only blockchain cryptocurrency specialist in community building.
James stated that his company, Blockchain Network Philippines (BNP), aims to pioneer the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry through crypto and blockchain.
As a company founder of more than 200 trained specialists, he is interested in bridging the gap between the need to supply marketing services in Web3 and filling the demand for job opportunities here in the Philippines, starting from Davao City to the rest of the country.
Kenneth James Berry envisions his company Blockchain Network Philippines (BNP) as becoming the leading marketing and industry consultant for start-ups, growing the communities of their products while retaining those Web3 projects.
How Kenneth James Berry Founded the BNP?Kenneth James Berry, the BNP Founder, shared his story of how he started his company from scratch, after writing articles on Publish0x in 2019. He wrote an article that hit the top of trending and that later led to his career in Web3.
The story that went viral on the Publish0x platform was about the Earthquake in Davao City, wherein his house was destroyed, but his company didn't pay for all the damages. And although he was a victim of that natural calamity, his company only provided him with a bit of help, giving him about P5,000.00 or roughly $100.00 USD.
Ken opened the article on his phone and showed us what happened to his house, which showed a very unfortunate scene. During the time of his article writing, he realized he could ask for donations through Publish0x, and luckily enough, he received at least $2,000 USD, which was overwhelming.
That was a Eureka moment for Kenneth James Berry as he could not believe how generous the people online were, giving him enough to entice him to start something big.
Image sourced from Splinterlands.com
Chris Rice, on his part, mentioned to Ken that HIVE may have a lot more users than Publish0x, as the Hive community has more than 200,000 users, but 99% of that is Splinterlands users, so even though Hive was supposed to be a social media blockchain, most of it went to gaming.
The DBuzz founder also revealed that because of that gaming aspect on Hive, DBuzz will release @retzark and is looking forward to a strong launch.
Chris Rice noted that @splinterlands had an excellent and strong launch because they had a top Hive Discord Channel or one of them, and they had consistent radio shows and used that influence to make Splinterlands an instant success.
The DBuzz founder reiterated that we should do something similar so that when we release Retzark, it will be a success, and we could then funnel that into DBuzz.
Kenneth then continued his story about the foundation of Blockchain Network Philippines (BNP). When he got $2,000 USD worth of donations from Publish0x after that one post in the blockchain, he quit his job.
He then used it as part of his start-up capital, and in 2020, he established the Blockchain Network of the Philippines.
Chris Rice then commented that Publish0x is good, but that 3rd parties can't build on Publish0x because it's a stand-alone project, unlike on Hive. Chris noted that just like DBuzz, anyone else will be able to build a micro-blogging platform on HIVE, since we will open-source all of our related code this December 15, 2023.
The DBuzz founder also stated that DBuzz is not the only open-source platform in the Hive community because there is also Hive.Blog, @peakd, which is mainly blogging, and there's also a video platform on Hive @threespeak.
Chris Rice also asked Kenneth James Berry what kind of project he has in mind in terms of building an internet-based project. Ken said he wanted to make something backed by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR) or possibly a diary dApp for users to share stories with loved ones, long after they are gone.
There is a lot more Behind-the-Scenes content we are scheduled to release, including an in-office video of our discussion with a YGG representative, and a talk with a 3,000 student school to onboard their staff and students to Hive.
Hive on! and stayed tuned.

Meeting the Principal and Her Staff:
We were scheduled to meet at around four o'clock in the afternoon, and we arrived at the venue 10 minutes earlier than scheduled. We were immediately introduced by Rubz Comms to the principal, Ma'am Emy B. Goc-ong, EdD, and Principal III of Jesus J. Soriano National High School in Barangay Catalunan Grande, Davao City.
Aside from the school principal, present also during the meeting were Mr. Tranquilino E. Velasco Jr., Officer-In-Charge of Junior High School Level, and Jenalyn A. Molina, school coordinator of Adopt-A-School Coordinator, and Davao DeFi Community Founder Rubz Comms.

After the short introductions of all the attendees during the meeting, Chris Rice introduced himself as the representative of the community of developers, bloggers, and content creators using a technology called Web3.
The DBuzz founder first asked the principal if the conversations could be documented through photos and taking down some notes of the meeting. The school principal Ma'am Goc-Ong agreed and was even grateful for the opportunity of having somebody interested in their program as they were mandated by the Philippine Department of Education to collaborate with various communities in helping the needs of their students not only in terms of education but also in terms of their school supply needs.

Ma'am Goc-Ong was so grateful upon hearing about the possibility of being given the opportunity to collaborate in various efforts to further the education of their students, especially in terms of technological advancements in the field of information technology.
According to the Principal of Jesus J. Soriano National High School, they have a program called Adopt-A-School initiative and introduced once again the coordinator of the said program, Ma'am Jenaly A. Molina, who responded positively with the idea of being given a chance to be one of the beneficiaries of any assistance from the Hive community.
Chris Rice, on his part as the representative of Hive, asked for some important data from the school principal, which they provided by giving rough estimates of the number of students in the said school. According to the principal, there were around 3,000 students enrolled at Jesus J. Soriano National High School, and most of these students come from families that live in a family earning below the poverty line or earning less than a dollar a day.

The Philippine Web3 Debate, dubbed as Bull or Bear, which was held in Cebu City last July 15, 2023, showcased the world's leading social media blockchain, Hive, represented by Nathan Senn as one of the keynote speakers and debaters in the said event.
The Bull or Bear event was attended by well-known personalities from the national government and various sectors of the Technology industry in the Philippines. GCash, Blockceler, Tekkon, CoinW, and BitGet were prominent brands gracing the occasion.
Bitskwela Team with the Web3 Philippines' Debaters
Aside from the brands, there were also prominent names in the Web3 industry who graced the event, like the President of the Philippine Blockchain Council and COO of DITO Telecom, Dr. Donald Lim; veteran crypto coder Nathan Senn from the Hive Blockchain and the Philippine-based microblogging platform DBuzz; Crypto Trading Coach Miranda Miner from Global Miranda Miner Group; online gaming enthusiast, Tyrone Bretaña from Tier One Alliance; content creator and brand ambassador Giu Comia from Tekkon; and creative entrepreneur Ashtley Sandoval.
Preparations for the Bull or Bear Cebu Event: The highly anticipated Web3 event in Cebu City featuring the best and brightest in the Web3 industry was made possible due to some preparations made by the organizers. The @bitskwela team, a leading online education group in the Philippines, spearheaded the Bull or Bear Debate in different parts of the country.
Bitskwela CEO Jiro Reyes, in internal communication with DBuzz and the Hive Team in Davao City, shared some of the links from their massive PR being shared to Tier One and Tier Two websites in the Philippines.
Tier One sites included significant news publications in the Philippines like the country's oldest newspaper, The Manila Bulletin, the nationwide paper PhilStar from The Star Group of Companies, and local counterparts like The Freeman in Cebu Province and the Manila Standard. These sites have their online version, and at the same time, they have their print version of their articles.
Aside from the online and print publication of the major news organizations in the country, the Bull or Bear event was also featured in a video interview with the country's leading news provider, ABS-CBN TV Network, through the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC). Bitskwela, the creator of the Bull or Bear event, mentioned Nathan Senn from Hive during the interview at the 7:34 minute mark.
As one of the major sponsors in the Bull or Bear Event, Hive was also featured inside the GCash Application, considered one of the leading e-wallets in the Philippines, with more than 16 million users nationwide.
Before the prominent Bull or Bear event in Cebu, the organizers prepared two separate events, one with a Twitter space attended by more than 2,000 users and the next was an in-person event in Imahica Gallery in Mandaluyong City attended by more than a hundred individuals.
Web3 Debate at the Main Event (Cebu): The Philippine Web3 Debate in Cebu, dubbed the New Internet, started at around 5:00 PM, featuring some of the most prominent speakers in the Web3 industry and supported by the government agency, Department of Information Technology (DICT) and local politicians in Cebu City.
The Bull or Bear event started with a Web3 introduction from Bitskwela contributor Aaron Lay followed by an inspiring message and storytelling from Miss Raine LaLuna from Sphera Solutions, sharing the current trends and state of the Web3 industry in Cebu City and nearby provinces.
The introduction to Web3 and the presentation regarding the current status of Web3 in the Philippines were followed by some keynote speeches from some of the most prominent speakers and representatives of major Web3 companies.
Keynote Speeches: The first to share his keynote speech was Nathan Senn from Hive and DBuzz, and he was introduced as one of the leaders who expanded Web3 adoption in the Philippines.
Nathan Senn graced the stage confidently with a fantastic introduction by presenting the common problems on Web2 social media, asking the audience if they have been suspended or banned online, and showed prominent personalities who have been banned despite their popularity and influence.
DBuzz Co-Founder Nathan Senn During His Keynote Speech
The veteran crypto coder then presented a solution by introducing the world's fastest-growing social media blockchain, the Hive blockchain. Nathan Senn emphasized in his keynote speech the importance of decentralization and Web3. He also reiterated that hundreds of Decentralized Applications (DApps) are built on Hive.
The Hive representative, Nathan Senn, will publish a separate in-depth article regarding his experience in the Bull or Bear Cebu and how he prepared for the highly anticipated Web3 event as a keynote speaker and debater.
Following Nathan Senn's keynote speech was Jeffrey Saenz from BitGet, discussing the transparency of centralized exchanges. According to Jeffrey, the company he worked with for more than a year BitGet, was launched in 2018.
BitGet aims to provide a comprehensive and secure trading platform with an estimated global user base of over 8 million users and over 50,000 professional traders worldwide.
After the BitGet representative's keynote speech, Crypto Pareh from Tekkon took the stage by introducing their project through an interesting question about a particular utility that we could not live without.
Crypto Pareh Representing Tekkon
Tekkon's representative, Crypto Pareh, talked about how Tekkon can contribute towards Crypto adoption in the Philippines and how they can contribute to solving everyday problems like electricity.
Jaeron Wong then took the stage for his keynote, talking about CoinW in the Philippines. The CoinW representative admitted that it was his company's first time in the Philippine market as an exchange, but it was not a new company. It was born in 2017, and as a crypto enthusiast, he had six years of experience in a centralized exchange, and his company CoinW successfully registered more than 9 million users worldwide.
Web3 Debate Proper: Six debate prompts were discussed in the successful Bull or Bear Web3 event in Cebu City. The debaters composed of Nathan Senn from Hive, Miranda Miner from Miranda Miner Group, Donald Lim from the Philippine Blockchain Council, Tyrone Bretana from Tier One, Giu Comia from Tekkon, and Ashtley Sandoval shared their sentiments on whether they were Bullish or Bearish about each topic.
(L-R) Donald Lim, Ashtley Sandoval, Nathan Senn, Kesh Morales, Miranda Miner, Giu Comia & Tyrone Bretana
The friendly debate about Web3 adoption in the Philippines started around 7:30 PM Philippine Standard Time.
The prompts included the following statements: 1. Web3 makes committing malicious activities such as theft, fraud, and hacking easier. 2. Web3 play-to-earn gaming is a fad. 3. Cryptocurrencies should be used as modes of payment for goods. 4. Web3 advocates for transparency, but in doing so, it can violate privacy. 5. The government should fully regulate Web3 products and projects. 6. Web3 does not need to be fully decentralized.
Philippine Web3 Debaters
Hive Users Sharing Their Bull or Bear Cebu Experiences: Hive users from different parts of Cebu, which was organized by the @hiveph Team, attended the event not only to support Hive as one of the speakers and sponsors of the events but also helping in promoting the visibility of Hive by wearing Hive shirts around the mall before the said event.
HivePH members and Hive users from Cebu, namely @selflessgem, @dehai, and @jobeliever, documented their travels and attendance during the successful Bull or Bear event and also helped attendees by sharing their experiences of the HIVE blockchain.
HivePH Cebu Users with the Hive Team from DBuzz
The HivePH Cebu users who attended the event were invited by @ybanezkim26 together with @indayclara, @intoy.bugoy, @glecerioberto, @ciadanmea, and @hapyoung. All these Hive users shared their respective blog posts about the event.
These Hive users from Cebu were able to meet the co-founder of D.Buzz (@dbuzz), Nathan Senn (@nathansenn), Kenny Owano (@kenny.rogers), PJ Entrepreneur (@pjentrepreneur), Kraster Lou (@valkangel), and Ron David (@rondavid) from the DBuzz and Hive Team based in Davao City, Philippines.
Some of the country's prominent social media community builders graced the successful Bull or Bear event in Cebu City, including NomadFury's Jeff Caceres, a freelance community builder and organizer of Web3 Lounge, Web3 Bacolod Community Founder and Web3 Cebu Co-Founder; Raine Laluna, founder of FilipinasNFT and Web3 Cebu community; and Miranda Miner from the Miranda Miner Global Group, a cryptocurrency mentoring and growth community.

Summary and Significance to the Hive Community: The Bull or Bear Web3 Debate in Cebu City was a massive success for the community of Web3 enthusiasts in the Philippines. With the support of the government agencies and local communities, it is interesting to note that the Web3 space is now gaining momentum to be adopted by the mainstream internet users in the Philippines.
The D.Buzz Team represented the world's leading social media blockchain, Hive.io, and the event generated over 20 million online impressions, according to the data published by the organizers, and made a significant impact in the Philippine Web3 communities.
Hive's visibility in Cebu City, with the support of the local community of Hive users, only proved that Cebu is a breeding ground for Hive users in the Philippines. With the enthusiasm and support they provided to the Team from Davao, Hive could become a household name in the Philippines.
The DBuzz Team, headed by Nathan Senn, inspired and impacted the Web3 community here in the Philippines. People were surprised to learn that there is a microblogging social media DApp in the country that could compete against the world's tech giants.
Having a Philippine-based decentralized application empowers Filipinos to be proud of the efforts made by the Hive Team from Davao City. This is a vast opportunity for mainstream Filipino social media users to adopt the Hive ecosystem.

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to find your posting keys and talk about the different type of keys you have gotten when you signed up for DBuzz:
When you signed up for DBuzz or HIVE, you would have received a list of different keys in a text file. We talk about the different key types.
The Owner Key, this allows you to change your master password, change or make new keys, and recover your account.
The Active Key, this allows you to transfer funds, power up or down, and vote for witnesses and proposals on Hive.
The Posting Key, this allows you to post, comment, vote, reblog, follow other users, and edit your profile, and is the key used to log into DBuzz.
The Memo Key, this allows you to send and view encrypted messages on transfers.
In addition to the separate keys, you can also use your username and master password to import all your keys into a HIve wallet DApp like Hive Key Chain.
One way to log in to DBuzz is with your posting key.
If you choose to log in this way, we recommend selecting your key and copy-pasting it instead of trying to type it out one letter at a time.
It's important to note that if you lose your keys, there's no way to get them back, and if someone steals your keys and changes them, you won't be able to log in to your account. Therefore, make sure to back up and keep your keys safe. Remember that keeping your keys safe is essential for protecting your account.
Thanks for choosing DBuzz as your microblogging Dapp of choice!

The highly anticipated FrolicBlock event in Mati City was a resounding success last June 9, 2023, with Hive and DBuzz gaining attention from the locals in Mati City and the blockchain community across the Philippines.
About FrolicBlock FrolicBlock aims to promote Dahican Beach, Mati City as the premiere destination for blockchain and Web3 gatherings in the Philippines. It is part of the Tourism activities initiated by the blockchain community of Mati City and Davao City in support of the Local Government's Tourism promotional efforts.
The organizers, MAD Project and @davaodeficom, said that the event is perfect for blockchain professionals or anyone interested in learning from industry leaders in the blockchain sector. The event was the first trial run of combining a Web3 event with the internationally-acclaimed SummerFrolic Dance and Music Festival in Mati City.
| | | | --- | --- | | Executive Assistant of the Mayor. | Local Press Agency. |
FrolicBlock 2023 was triggered by an Official Press Conference at around 2:00 PM on June 9, 2023. The press conference was attended by the local news media outlets in Mati City and Davao City, the City Information Office, the Executive Assistant of the City Mayor, national government agencies in charge of security, and the major sponsors of the event, one of them being the Hive blockchain, represented by @nathansenn and @chrisrice.
During the Press Conference, Nathan Senn highlighted the importance of Blockchain Technology and common problems of censorship among popular Web2-based social media. He explained how Hive is solving these issues and presented a decentralized solution through a myriad of Decentralized Apps (DApps) built on top of the Hive Blockchain.
Chris Rice emphasized the importance of Web3 for peer-to-peer transactions, the next innovations of the Internet, and the opportunities not just for big corporations but also for individuals here in the Philippines.
Also in attendance during the FrolicBlock Press Conference were representatives from the crypto exchange website BitGet, and Web3 gaming platform XWinner.
| | | | --- | --- | | Before starting the event. | Start of FrolicBlock. |
Mati City Executive Assistant to Mayor Michelle Rabat, Mr. Allan Andrada graced the press conference as he offered his appreciation for the sponsors and the Web3 communities for choosing Mati as the venue of the FrolicBlock event, as part of their commitment of support, they asked national security agencies such as the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Army, and the Philippine Coast Guard to ensure the security of tourists, guests and the key leaders of various Web3 companies.
Aside from the FrolicBlock event, the City government was also preparing for the yearly popular dance and music festival SummerFrolic and the celebration of the 16th anniversary of the Cityhood of Mati, Davao Oriental. Mati City also celebrates the 22nd Year of the Pujada Bay Festival, the bay was even awarded and recognized as one of the world's best bays by the Paris-based Les Plus Belles Baies Du Monde (The Most Beautiful Bays in the World) Club, a UNESCO-supported club.
Before the keynote speeches and talks by blockchain industry leaders, there were games and a series of activities with one of the highlights being the onboarding segment of Web3 users.
With a total of four stations, the Hive Onboarding Station (DBuzz) was first, followed by a station for BitGet, and then the Web3 Game station featuring XWinner, Gym Street, and the NFT minting station. Each section is needed to proceed to the next section and Hive was highlighted because of its booth placement.
Aside from the four stations, the organizers provided a registration booth so the attendees would know what the event was all about.
| | | | | --- | --- | --- | | Early | Middle | Late |
The Hive and DBuzz booth, otherwise known as Station One, was the most well-attended booth, not only because of the availability of Hive merchandise we offered but because it was the first step to joining the event.
The team made it easy for newbies to onboard to Hive, all the potential users had to do was submit a phone number, and as soon as they got their keys, they were encouraged to make their first buzz on the blockchain by using #Hive, #DBuzz, #FrolicBlock, and #Summerfrolic as hashtags.
More videos of the event, the Press Conference, and a Panel discussion with HIVE is on the way. Stay tuned.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/efdenzto # D.Buzz Features: Titles A title is a great way to have your content stand out on the various Hive front-ends. Today, let’s talk about the title feature and how to specify the title of your Buzz.
When you go to make a new Buzz, you will see the letter ‘T’ on the icon tray at the bottom. This is the button for titles. When typing a buzz and you click this button, a pop-up window will appear asking you to set a new title. Type in a title that you want and click “Set”. This will set the title for your Buzz.
You will only see a title appear in the preview section of the Buzz if you have already typed in the content of your Buzz.
After you publish your Buzz, the title will not be shown on D.Buzz. However, on various other Hive front-ends, the title will appear above your content.
Please Note: Specifying a title to your Buzz will not affect the character count of your Buzz content which is limited to 280 characters.
We encourage you to add titles to all of your Buzzes.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/bytoqojo # D.Buzz Features: Replies When someone leaves a comment on one of your Buzz’s, you will receive a notification that there is a reply. Replies are the heart of conversations on D.Buzz.
On the main menu, scroll down to your “Profiles” tab and click on it. This will bring you to your profile screen. On this screen, you will see three tabs underneath the header, which are Buzzes, Comments, and Replies. Click on Replies.
When you’re on the replies tab, you will see all the different users who have replied to one or more of your buzzes. These are listed in descending (z -> a) order from the latest comment, down to the oldest. If you click on any of these replies, you can then leave your own reply, view, and/or vote for that author, all directly from within this tab.
On the “Buzz’s” tab on your main profile page, you will see all your different buzzes. On the bottom of a buzz right before the horizontal line, you will see a heart icon and a speech bubble. The number next to the speech bubble shows how many replies that buzz has received.
If you click on your buzz then scroll down a bit, you will see all the replies. These are listed in ascending (a -> z) order from the first reply to the last. The red vertical line connects conversations together underneath that buzz.
Please Note: Making use of your replies is a great way to build a following, and potentially increase the number of votes you might get. It’s generally a good practice to respond to replies in a timely fashion.
Each reply can only have a maximum of 280 characters (excluding up to 3 links and images), much like the main Buzz itself.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/kkanfhvj # D.Buzz Features: http://dbuzz.chat Connecting with the community is a priority of ours. Currently, we have a Discord server that acts as one of our main hubs of communication. However, we want to present options to our community members, who may not like to use Discord but still wish to communicate with us. For this reason we have set up a communication channel on the Matrix.org platform.
Matrix.org is a secure, open-source, and decentralized communication platform. You can learn more about this platform by visiting Matrix.org.
As Matrix is an open-source project, a number of developers have made various front-ends that you can use to access the Matrix network, and then engage in communication with anybody on that network. To discover the list of front-end clients and load one you might enjoy using, you can visit Matrix.org clients.
Several frontends for Matrix we recommend are :
After you have installed a front-end for Matrix, you can visit D.Buzz chat.
This will forward you to https://matrix.to/#/#d.buzz:matrix.org.
On this page, you will first be directed to install a matrix client. After that, you are instructed to visit our community page located at #d.buzz:matrix.org
After you join our public room on Matrix, please introduce yourself and say hi. :)
Please Note: For the most part, our room on Matrix is unregulated because it is available to the public. Always be mindful of potential people trying to scam you, and there may be adult or sensitive information that are shared outside our control.
The D.Buzz team will never ask you for any of your private keys and passwords, and you should never send these to anybody.
Always be mindful of what links you visit, and who are sending you those links.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/syrqrbou # D.Buzz Features: Switching Accounts For authors who own or manage multiple accounts on D.Buzz, there is a built-in option that makes it easy to transition from one account to another.
If you are on a PC, click the “... More” on the menu on the left side of the page, then click “Switch Accounts”. On mobile, press the “...” at the bottom-right corner of the screen, then press “Switch Accounts”.
A pop-up window will appear listing your currently logged in account. Click on where it says “Add Account”. Another pop-up window will open.
In this window, you can add additional Hive accounts, or switch between accounts already added. You can add an account by using your username and “Posting Key”. If you have your accounts added already through the HIVE Keychain, you just need to enter your username and click “Add account”.
After you add an account, the page will automatically refresh to the account you just added.
After an account is added, you can easily transition back and forth between these accounts by going to the “Switch Accounts” option as listed above.
If you wish to remove an account, simply log out the way you normally would. When you do so, all of the accounts that you have added will be removed.
Please Note: All of your login credentials are stored locally on your browser. If you remove your cookies and clear your cache, you will need to login again into your accounts.
Currently, we do not have a limit on the number of accounts you can add and switch between.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/tmmpyjne # D.Buzz Features: Edit your Buzz or Comment D.Buzz comes with an ability to edit your previous Buzzes or comments.
When you have a Buzz that has already been published and you wish to edit it, Find that particular Buzz and click on it.
When that particular screen loads, scroll down to just above the comment section. You will see three vertical dots in a row on the right-hand side. When you click on these dots, you will have several options -, one being the edit option.
When you click the edit option, you are brought into that particular Buzz or comment. After you’ve made your edits, click the update button to broadcast the update to the blockchain.
Please Note: The various front-end dapps, such as D.Buzz, PeakD, Hive Blog, or any Dapp that makes use of the Hive Blockchain, will only display the most up-to-date information you have submitted. However, keep in mind that all previous versions of your text and other information are still present on the blockchain, just a bit harder to access and view.
Meaning, anyone can view any information you have submitted to the blockchain.
The majority of the time, the blockchain only includes text information. While you can “delete” information, and Hive front-ends will show information is deleted, all previous records and information are still present and can be accessed at any time.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/pzjfylsp # D.Buzz Features: The Image Grid The Image Grid on D.Buzz is a convenient way to view and organize your photos as you upload them.
When you make a new buzz or comment, then you upload an image, you’ll see that the image now appears in a grid format below your current Buzz.
These images can be clicked on to view the full size, or you can click the trash icon while you hover over them, to remove them from your grid.
All images uploaded to the grid do not count towards your 280-character limit.
After you have uploaded the images you need, click the Buzz button as normal to make a Buzz.
Currently we do not have a cap on the number of images you can upload.
Keep in mind. Be sure to add a description to any Buzz’s when you add an image. While it is not technically needed, some communities, and curators frown upon uploading an image only. They may downvote your post. Adding a description making use of your full 280 characters will help your Buzz gets wider recognition, votes, and acceptance in communities on D.Buzz, and Hive in general.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/fyhztzwj # D.Buzz Features: Switching Themes On D.Buzz, you have a few different options for color palettes - or "Themes" - you can select.
Along the menu on the left-hand side, go down to the "... More" button. You will have additional options - one of which being "Themes" after you click it.
When you click "Themes", you'll be presented with a menu that has different options for changing the color palette.
Currently we have three different themes that are enabled on the platform -
Daylight, Granite, and Nightshade.
Daylight is the standard theme that everyone has by default. This theme works well if you work in an environment with a lot of natural light.
Granite and Nightshade work well if you operate in an office or environment that has a lack of natural light, or has a darker setting.
Feel free to play around with the different themes, and discover one that matches your personality and environment the best.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/oqgidwwl # D.Buzz Features: Your Wallet On D.Buzz, you can claim your HIVE pending rewards and view your balances, all within the wallet interface. Today, let’s take a look at this feature.
On the side menu, if you go down to the option for "Wallet" and click, you will be brought to your wallet.
In the wallet, you have the option to claim any pending rewards you may have. You can also see the different token totals you currently have on the platform.
These values would be your HIVE Tokens, Hive Power (HP), Hive Backed Dollars (HBD), and Hive savings. Lastly, you'll see an estimated total value in USD of the combined value of your assets.
Remember, your Buzzes are being paid out in HBD. It takes seven days from the time you post your Buzz until you receive your post rewards.
Your rewards are divided 50/50. You will receive 50% of the payout split equally into HIVE and HBD. Likewise 50% of the payout goes to the curators. The curators get paid out based on the timeframe in which they vote, the amount that they vote, and the percentage of that vote.
You can earn HBD by either posting content and voting on content.
You can swap your HBD for HIVE on the market at https://wallet.hive.blog/market.
NOTE: At this time you can only claim pending rewards in the D.Buzz wallet. In time, we will add additional features to this option.
For more additional wallet options, we recommend using another front-end to manage your Hive assets.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/kizbvaby # D.Buzz Features: Notification Tab D.Buzz has a powerful feature that is often overlooked by content authors - the notifications tab.
The notifications tab is located on the left-hand side of the menu. When you have a new notification, a number will appear in a small red circle next to this menu item. This number is how many new notifications you have.
A notification can be anything - a comment, mention, or a new vote - done on your account by another person.
If you click this menu item, you are brought to the notification screen. Here, you will see all the different notifications listed out for you.
If you wish to sort out your notifications, you can use the drop-down inverted caret (the symbol shaped like a v) and sort your notifications out by specific types such as votes, mentions, tags, and more.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=dbuzz/adxkyyir # D.Buzz Features: Share to LinkedIn D.Buzz has options that enable an easier method to share your content to LinkedIn with a few clicks.
When you're on D.Buzz, identify a Buzz you wish to share.
Copy the text you wish to share by drag selecting around it. On a PC, press CTRL + C for Copy (on a Mac, this is Apple + C). On a mobile device, a pop-up should appear asking you to copy it to the clipboard.
After the buzz is copied, proceed down to the share icon. Click the share icon. The last icon is the LinkedIn icon. Click this.
A window should pop up asking you to login if you're not already logged in. If you are already logged in, it will ask you to share to a post or in a message. Select the option that you wish.
In the window that pops up, on a PC, press CTRL + V ( on a Mac, App + V) to paste the content from your clipboard. On a mobile device, just hold your finger down for a second and you'll see a window appear and select “Paste”.
Do any edits to the content that you wish. When you're happy with your post, click the publish or send button.
NOTE * We are working on ways to streamline the sharing option and natively populate the content into these windows. In the meantime, this is the best method.
