We are made to worship, and worship is more than just Sunday. Worship is a lifestyle, but our affections determine who or what we worship. We can chose God... or we can choose an idol.

During this second installment of the Gospel of John study, we will be looking at the curiosity that people must have had when meeting the Messiah for the first time. Jesus was unusual! He approached ministry in a way that was quite strange in comparison to other religious leaders of His day.

The Seven Arrows are seven questions to ask when interpreting the Bible. Each arrow represents a "directional idea" that will be explained in each of the sermons and through the book.

This series is designed to begin the challenge to our church of the importance of having a Leadership Pipeline, which requires every person to have a personal goal of developing leaders themselves. The idea of Hero Maker is that as Christians we are to humble ourselves and train others. A metaphor would be "to build platforms for other people."

This sermon series will be designed to challenge our people to trust God's commands even when it doesn't make sense. The leading sermon will be from the Feeding of the 5,000. When Jesus tell's his disciples to feed 20,000 people with a few loaves of bread and a couple of fish. This "math" doesn't "add up." We will look at that idea for 3 weeks as we challenge our church to take another step of faith in their journey of generosity. What God may ask us to do just won't "add up" because it will require faith. Earthly math doesn't require faith it only requires understanding but God's math requires faith.

Living out the Christian life in a “SELFIE world” is quite the challenge. Jesus asks His followers to live so counter-culturally to the world we live in in several ways: with our relationships, our resources, and even at work! During these first four weeks of 2019, we will learn about what it means to live out our faith in the midst of a world set on convincing us to do exactly the opposite.

Every person has a story--and behind every story is someone who committed to investing in that story. Jesus taught his disciples to pursue every person, even if that pursuit demands abandoning everything (Luke 15) . . . for our glory is too small a thing to live for. In this sermon series, the teaching team at Journey Church challenges every listener to faithfully invest in those who are far from God but close to us to ensure they come to know the ONE, Jesus Christ.

Having God’s heart for people requires us to first see people like God sees them. We often see the challenge that comes along with loving and ministering to broken people but Jesus seemed to see people with much greater compassion.
