"I am so mad at my company and my HR manager. I am going through a bad breakup and went to my HR manager because I put in a request for a 'break-up leave'. She nearly laughed in my face when I followed up with her in person. I said women get a maternity leave and mourners get a bereavement leave so why should I not get a break-up leave. I'm in a state of mourning myself. She said the company doesn't offer that because it's not a real reason for a leave. I disagree and plan to take my case to the president of the company. If you were the president, who would you side with .. me or the HR manager? Should companies offer a break-up leave?"
"I am writing to you because I don't like my daughter's new gym teacher. Parents got a chance to meet new teachers last week. My daughter is 8 years old. Her new gym teacher is like a drill sergeant and told parents he expects maximum effort during class. He also said he plans to talk to several of the students about losing weight. I thought this was completely inappropriate. It will shatter confidence and embarrass kids. Should gym teachers be talking to young children about losing weight? Is the teacher overstepping his bounds? I think this is a form of body shaming. I am thinking about going to the principal."
