I am not saying it is the wrong approach, but it seems like way too many people want to talk about the “Cattle Cycles” in regard to the ebb and flow of profits that trickle down the beef supply chain. A recent graph released by USDA clearly shows the expansion and contraction of cowherd numbers throughout the years. I guess what really concerns me is that we need to come up with a new plan, laws, legislation, etc. that will ensure adequate profit to ranchers each and every year, as opposed to good profits two years out of every 10...
