Hopefully we are past the skid we saw in cattle prices in August and part of September. It certainly feels like it. If one studies auction receipts and prices at markets across the country, it doesn’t take long to figure out there are a lot fewer cattle being brought to town due to the lowest cow numbers we have seen in history. The prices for calves have come back nicely in the last few weeks, which is also reflective of fewer supplies available.
