Professor of Materials Science and Surf Engineering, Marc is a national and internationally recognized expert in the development of new materials.

Marc created The Surf Flex Lab which is a dedicated surf engineering facility for defining and quantifying the (mechanical) behaviour and performance of surfboard and fin in the laboratory and ocean.

The facility is run by surfers for surfers.

He specialises in 3D printed fins and Mechanical Flex

We develop surfboard fins using additive manufacturing (3D printing) in combination with a performance feedback loop.

We are establish protocols to systematically investigate and quantify the mechanical flex behaviour of surfboards
