On this episode of the Seeing Eye Dogs Show, Harriet is joined by two guests.
- Yoav Ortov Seeing Eye Dogs instructor joins us to talk about the bushwalking program now that the first session has been held, and how the program could develop in the future. If you're a Seeing Eye Dogs handler keen to learn more about bushwalking, stay tuned for more information on future programs, or contact your instructor or email SEDClients@visionaustralia.org to find out about how we can support you.
- Cam Roles director on the board of Vision Australia, lawyer, academic and Seeing Eye Dogs handler joins us to talk about accessing public places, and the experiences of refusals. Whilst so many businesses and places are welcoming of handlers with Seeing Eye Dogs, dog guides or other service dogs, there can be issues of refusals still. Cam and Harriet talk about his experiences with the public in those situations. There are resources on advocacy and access rights available on the Vision Australia website.

We are looking for puppy carers now so if you're keen to raise a puppy to hopefully become a Seeing Eye Dog we'd like to hear from you! It's an incredibly rewarding experience, with training provided. Carers need time, patience and love to give to a puppy, so if you want to commit to a year of puppy raising, we would love your help. If you live in the North Brisbane or Sunshine Coast regions of Queensland, Central Coast region of New South Wales or in Victoria in Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and Greater Melbourne (listed on our Website) get in touch to find out about volunteering with us or apply now via our website.
