An immigrant from Japan at five years old, Kuri Yasuno arrived in the United States with her older brother and parents. She later received her BSLA from Georgetown University and worked in the online departments at Discovery Health and National Geographic Channel. After her older son was diagnosed with autism, Kuri switched gears to stay at home. After navigating the complicated journey of parenting a child on the spectrum, Kuri was compelled to help other parents navigate their child’s diagnosis as well as raise awareness across the board with her book Autism with a Side of Sushi.
