Isaiah 61 told of the coming Messiah. In Luke 4, Jesus read this passage in His hometown, and announced that the prophecy had been fulfilled, and He was the One they had been waiting for. And it didn’t go so well. The end of the Old was the beginning of the New. But Jesus wasn’t exactly what they were expecting.
