Bookmarked 7 Things to Do Before You Start Your PhD by Kimberly Hirsh (kimberlyhirsh.com)
- Choose a citation manager.
- Choose a way of storing readings.
- Figure out how you prefer to read.
- Look for information on your university library’s website about help with research.
- Learn to read and take notes.
- Develop an elevator pitch for your research interests.
- Get a hobby or two.
Kimberly Hirsh provides a list of seven things to do before starting a PhD. This provides another perspective to add to the list. It has me thinking of how one can start a PhD before actually starting a PhD.
I am also left wondering what the difference might be with a citation manager and my own commonplace book.
