Specifically it examines his discussion in book 3 about an issue in Stoic moral theory that is sometimes confusing for those studying Stoic ethics: how do these two ranges of value fit into each other - the virtues, which Stoics regard as the good, and the preferred indifferents, which are not strictly speaking good, but do possess value.
