Because of the current state of the world, I've decided to delay the start of season 2 by one week, until March 10.
I want to kick off the new season by recognizing our Ukrainian brothers' contributions to the culinary arts; in particular, I'll tell you about the history of Borsch, the world-famous and much-loved Russian dish. I stand against this war, or any war for that matter.
Do not forget that Covid-19 hasn't left of the chat as it may seem, especially here in Russia , so continue to comply with all regulations.
Please take care of yourselves.

Gloriously rich and sweet, with just the right amount of acidity, this soup defies the modest reputation of its main ingredient. However, when the dish was invented, it was simply a case of the allium being in the right place at the right time…
I, of course, am talking about Soupe à l’oignon, French Onion soup.

In the words of the legendary chef, and my personal hero, Anthony Bourdain :
“Food is everything we are. It’s an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It’s inseparable from those from the get-go.” - Anthony Bourdain
As a budding chef, longtime food enthusiast and a history junkie, I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, so I invite you to join me in an exploration of the historical backgrounds and cultural significances of everyday dishes from around the world. What made a dish what it is today? Which circumstances, events, and, perhaps, personal anecdotes shaped the modern cuisine we see everywhere?
Welcome to “Every dish, a story”, a podcast about a place of food in our lives and what it meant to our ancestors.
