The Black Elevator Podcast

A strong pillar in the arts community in Edmonton, Darren Jordan curated the first-ever 5 Artists 1 Love visual arts event in February of 2006. Noticing a lack of diversity and representation, Darren saw an opportunity to plant a seed. What started out as only a Black History Month event, 5 Artists 1 Love now fixtures several events throughout the year to showcase and celebrate the cultural diversity as well as promote Black artists in Edmonton. More importantly, the showcase itself is about educating and teaching the community who are not of African descent about the purpose of 5 Artists 1 Love.
