035 - Danielle Dooley is the Custom Designer for the tiny building company, Designer Eco Tiny Homes, based on the South Coast of NSW.

Danielle has a background in architecture and interior decorating. She has designed/built over 70 tiny homes with Designer Eco Tiny Homes and is passionate about working with their custom clients to create unique and bespoke spaces.

Danielle and I worked together on the custom design of my tiny house, and from experience, I can say she is absolutely brilliant at what she does. I learned a lot from Danielle going through this process, and she really helped me to navigate things when I wasn’t clear or sure how things could fit or if certain things would work.

In this conversation we talk about:

  • Some of the pro’s and con’s of custom designing a tiny home vs buying one “off-the-shelf”
  • Where to start and how to approach planning your custom design
  • Design considerations for the different areas and features of your tiny home, including bedroom, lounge space, kitchen, bathroom, storage and cladding
  • What Danielle loves most about working on custom designs with people
  • Some of the most challenging design problems she has to solve… and more!

I really loved this conversation and it reminded me of why I chose to go with Designer Eco to build my tiny home. I’m super happy with what we’ve created and I have the Designer Eco team to thank for it. They are fantastic to work with, their team are helpful, patient and kind, and the builds they create are high quality and absolutely stunning.
